Sweet Dream House Rescue

Sweet Dream House Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no kill, all volunteer, all breed animal rescue. We utilize a network of foster homes for pets ready for adoption. Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals, to spay/neuter, vaccinate and provide any needed medical care until they are adopted into loving homes. We are often the rescue of last resort, waiting until other rescues select from the euthansia lists to rescue those that are not selected.

Meet Misty 2025

Lovely MISTY came through her hip surgery with flying colors. She’s started her recovery in her foster home and it’s time for her to find a furever home where she can complete her recovery and get started on her happy new life! Misty is an absolutely beautiful 10-month-old mixed breed girl, our best guess is some blend of Sheltie (Shetland sheep dog), Australian Shepherd and Border Collie. Misty was hit by a car a few months ago and suffered two injuries, a broken leg and a hip injury. Her broken leg was treated prior to her joining us at SDHR. Her hip injury required a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery. Misty is a delightful 27ish pound dog. She is whip smart and very sweet. She’s also a world-class cuddler. Misty needs a home where she can be a beloved pet with plenty of socialization. Once she’s fully recovered, she should be able to have a normal dog life but won’t be able to engage in high energy activities, she can’t be a running companion, participate in agility training or live with a hard-playing large dog. She would thrive in activities like scent training. Misty is dog friendly and loves people. She needs a home with an experienced adopter who will provide good leadership. She’s best suited to a home with a physically fenced yard. She would be fine with another medium-energy dog or as an only child provided she gets lots of attention from her people. Misty will go to a furever home on an extended trial basis. Her adoption will be completed after she has completed her medical treatment. Misty must go to a local adopter in order to receive follow-up treatment with our vet at Clough Pike Veterinary Clinic in Batavia. If you’d like to meet Misty, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhousrescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
