Meet Tipster
Every once in a while we meet a dog whose capacity to love humans unconditionally amazes us. TIPSTER is one of those dogs. This guy loves every single human despite nearly dying due to neglect. He was found chained behind a doghouse, unable to even seek shelter inside the doghouse, and nearly starved to death. Thankfully a good samaritan tipped off animal control and Tipster was confiscated and taken to a shelter where he started his recovery. We agreed to take this boy in and find him a home where he'll never have to wonder where his next meal will come from or endure a storm or freezing cold with no shelter. Tipster is an English Pointer-type mix, probably 3-4 years old and 50 lbs. When Tipster sees a friend he zooms and leaps and twirls for joy and then he checks your pockets for treats. Then he will melt into you for pets and ear rubbies. Tipster would love a home with a physically-fenced yard where he can zoom and play. We'd like to find Tipster a home where he will be an only dog and won't feel he has to compete for food or attention. He's not aggressive, but after what he's been through, we want to place him in a home where he will get all of the treats and all of the attention and finally feel safe and loved. Tipster needs to work on his manners but he's a very smart boy who learns quickly and is understandably very food motivated. You'll be hard-pressed to find a dog who will love you more than Tipster. If you're interested in exploring a co-dependent relationship with wonderful Tipster, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.
