Meet Cheerio

Meet CHEERIO, a darling little senior fellow looking for new home. He's a mixed breed boy, maybe some Jack Russell Terrier, Chihuahua and who knows what else. Cheerio is 11-13 years old and 22 pounds, but a bit overweight. He should be around 18 pounds. As best we can tell, Cheerio is a perfect little dog. He loves people of all ages and is fine with other dogs and cats. Cheerio was a well-loved family member and received excellent veterinary care, including a recent dental cleaning and senior blood work. He's in excellent health, he just needs a new place to call home due to some family circumstances. Cheerio is a sweet boy and would be a wonderful companion for a retiree. He's housebroken and crate trained and just delightful. If you'd like to meet Cheerio, please fill out a dot adoption application at dreamhousrescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Cheerio at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.   All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
