Meet Boris

Boris and his brother Kane came to Minnesota from Missouri.  Dog names carry a lot of weight in determining personality and behavior expectations. Dogs named Boris are seen as dependable steadfast companions and exhibit a balance of trust, courage, and affection. These words fit Boris. Boris so enjoys food. His food intake is monitored as big boy Boris does not need to gain weight. Good thing he likes carrots, green beans, and apples for a treat. Boris has DM, so far he is not letting that stop him from enjoying the world around him. He not the biggest fan of his wheels but are working on. Boris is a sweetheart and kind to all. Boris has no interest in toys nor does he have a destructive or mean bone in his body. He gets very excited for car rides and a great passenger.  The resident two cats snuggle next to Boris to take advantage of his warmth. Boris sleeps in a dog bed next to foster mom’s bed. Foster mom is not an early riser and Boris has no issue with that routine. Weather permitting he is very content and satisfied to soak up the sun and watch the world go by. Boris is a great couch companion and a wonderful considerate housemate plus he is not adverse to anything including a kennel.  Boris is a very happy guy, loves humans, makes foster mom smile a lot, and likes to give lots of licking kisses.

Adoption Process
All potential adopters must complete an adoption application which includes veterinary records for any current or past pets; adopters go through an interview process and a home visit. Once those steps are approved, the potential adopter can meet available dogs that fit the criteria and are a good match between family, home, and dog. An adoption contract is signed with the stipulation that RCBR can do a follow up visit and remove the dog from the home if any part of the contract is breached. Dogs can only be adopted once spay/neuter or other medical conditions requiring treatment are completed. An additional training contract is signed for any dog needing further training. If the adoptive family cannot keep the dog for the long term, the dog must be returned to RCBR. RCBR must be notified if family is planning to euthanize dog due to illness and/or old age or unknown behavior issues and can then elect to take back the dog.
