Last Hope Animal Rescue

Last Hope Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Formed in March of 2004, we are an all volunteer animal rescue group comprised of foster homes in the greater Cedar Rapids area. Many of our animals come from local kill shelters, as their time has run out due to any number of reasons including lack of space, not deemed adoptable, special needs, etc. Our purpose is to save as many homeless, abused, abandoned, hard to place, neglected animals that we can and to place as many animals as possible into loving, forever homes where they will be cherished.

Meet Tater Tot

Tater Tot is a healthy and happy adult male dog, around 50 pounds and 1.5 to 2 years old.  His breed mix is a just a guess at this point, but what we can guarantee is that if you are looking for a fun and active companion - Tater Tot could be your guy!  Tater does great with other dogs, he's playful and outgoing.  He is not a great match with cats unfortunately, and does want to chase them. Tater would love a home with his own yard to enjoy, and he would do great with a family that has elementary aged kids or older (he just hasn't met too many younger children yet!)   Tater Tot's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations, preventatives and heartworm testing.  Tater Tot is seeking an indoor only home.  If you are interested in meeting Tater Tot, please submit an adoption application for consideration through our website (adopthope.org).  Last Hope does require that adopters with a history of owning companion animals show that they have kept them as indoor pets only, altered and kept current on annual vaccinations and preventatives.

Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
