Meet MURPHY
MEET MURPHY--- This handsome fella was picked up as a stray--an owner never surfaced. He was taken to see our vet where he has been bathed, fully vetted; blood tested, vaccinated, neutered and chipped. He's a Boxer American Bulldog mix (?) about 6 years old and full grown at about 65 lbs. He is living in one of our foster homes and is doing great. He is well behaved, housebroken, laid back and very gentle. He is dog-selective... likes calm, laid back dogs, not ones who get in his face. He didn’t walk well on a leash at first -- but Murphy learns quickly and is eager to please- see the video of Murphy on his 3rd attempt at walking on a leash- what a good boy!”. .. “Like many dogs, adoption events can overwhelm him, so we can arrange a private meet and greet in a more typical environment so that you can see Murphy’s true personality” Since he has been in our care - he has learned to live amicably with other dogs, with time to get to know them -- and recently, accepted a cat. And WE have learned that he cannot have stuffed toys because he EATS them! But he is a great dog - and he needs a great home. Adoption fee $200 Please download an application from our website: www.gratefulpaws.org NOTE: Adoption/rehoming fees are applied towards the vet bill: exam, blood tests, vaccinations, fecal, worming, spay/neuter, dental if necessary, and a microchip. There is rarely anything left over, but if that happens, the monies get applied to the next or previous pet - who may have had to have an x-ray, be groomed or have a dental.
Adoption Process
We are of the belief that there is a perfect home for every homeless pet. We just need the time to find it.
Most of the animals in our care have been rescued, so we ensure their new homes will be better than the last.
We ask every potential adoptee to complete an adoption application. The board reviews each application and the best home for the pet will be chosen. We arrange for a home visit; use a legal and binding adoption contract and charge an adoption fee that is applied towards the vet bill and care of the pet. In most cases the adoption fee does not cover our out -of-pocket costs so we rely upon the help of many to place the animal in its final home.
