Meet Jack *TRAINING CAMP

Jack is currently away at a training camp to get some much-needed one-on-one time!  This camp will teach a bunch of commands so that he can do tricks for you when you adopt him!  Graduation will be in approximately 10 weeks at the end of March. Jack can't wait to show you his new tricks! Attention hoomans ---guess who needs a new home! Me! I am Jack, and I am super-duper affectionate with mountains of love but no one to give it to:(  I am smart and eager to please. …just ask me to 'sit,' 'down,' and 'give paw' so I can impress you.  Fair warning…I fetch toys, but I might hide them so you will give me more toys. Tee hee!  I love to play in a fenced yard, but noises on walks can be a little scary so I need help with that…okay?  And, oh boy, do I have the energy to keep up with you doing fun things! But most of all, my sad heart yearns for an owner who will be patient with me. Won't you help me to blossom....and not give up on me again?  It was so heartbreaking and confusing to lose all of my hoomans and my home and be left back at Judy’s.  I promise to love you, protect you, and play with you.  I really am a very good boy, and I would adore you forever.  Will you be my new owner…..pretty please? And this time, can it please be a forever home? Other information on Jack: This wonderful and loving dog deserves his second chance. If you think you might be a match for Jack, please fill out an application on our website.   Here is some more information on this handsome lad. Jack is energetic and a pleaser.  He enjoys his mornings running around in the Lobby playing with staff. He kind of likes to be the alpha, so if there is another dog in the home, a submissive dog would be a better playmate for this wonderful dog. While a loving and affectionate dog, Jack is also a nervous/anxious dog. That can look like barking at noises he hears or being protective of his space. He needs an owner who is active to help him work through that anxiety/nervousness. Jack is a truly sweet dog. He’s 5 years old and was adopted as a puppy from PRBJ.  He may sadly not have been properly socialized since he is kind of a “nervous Nellie”.  In that former home, the middle-school-aged child did not heed Jack's wanting to be left alone, and despite multiple requests from his parents and growls from Jack, the child did not stop pestering Jack and was bitten, sadly resulting in sweet Jack losing his long-time home. So, children who are teenager or older would be best for Jack.  Dogs usually have a way of telling us what they want and it is the owner's job to listen to them when they do so that the dog is not set up for failure. All in all, Jack is a lovely boy with a playful, loving, curious and energetic nature.
