Wags of Monroe County

I’m a longtime volunteer for Friends of Homeless Animals,, Rhode Island, and about two years ago I began working directly with a woman in rural Mississippi who runs a rescue called Wags. Now I exclusively help her

Meet Georgia aka Goldie

adoption donation : $599 weight 44 lbs Age 5 months as of 5/18         Georgia is sweet girl who gets very attached to her person and gets along fine with other dogs and cats. She is timid around new people but is getting much better. Once she gets to know you, she just loves to be with her person. She follows her Foster Mom around, tailwagging, she is loving and affectionate. She won’t run off, she just loves to be near her Foster Mom and gives her kisses. Georgia is also very smart. She quickly learned to sit and touch and responds to leave it.    Georgia and her three sisters were left in the driveway at the Wags rescue in Mississippi as young puppies, an all too common occurrence in the South. The three girls settled in well at the  the rescue, romping with the other dogs and snuggling into a big puppy pile to nap! They were spayed and given their vaccinations and Georgia made the trip up from Mississippi to her new foster home and immediately bonded with her foster brother and her foster mom and dad.      The puppies all seem to be mixes of Shepherd and plot hound, Georgia has a beautiful brindle coat and gentle, soulful eyes.       Georgia is doing well with house breaking and loves toys and bones. She  sleeps in a dog bed at the foot of her foster mom’s bed.     Like any puppy Georgia needs a family who will spend time with her and give her the attention and training that she needs to grow up to be the very good girl we know she can be. Georgia will make a wonderful family dog.     Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use.
