Meet JONES - Offered by Owner - Special Needs

Jones is a four year old all black cat with lots of love to share. Jones came to our care in the summer of 2023 when his previous owner became homeless. He instantly wanted to spend time with us and is overall a happy, easygoing cat who adjusted quickly to a new home. Jones can have bursts of playful energy and loves to play with a variety of toys. He is often content to look out windows and be at your side while you read, work, or watch TV. He has a lot of personality and greatly enjoys interacting with people. He's neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and sports a snazzy eartip!   Jones has two big challenges that go with him to his next/forever home. He was rescued from street cat life and lived for a time with other cats and a dog, but since he's been in our care, he's been aggressive towards our own cats such that they've not been able to share space, even with careful introduction procedures. It feels odd to say he should be an only cat, but we think perhaps his rescue background and his last owner's housing insecurity have contributed to this. He would be ideal for someone who's home a lot and wants a constant companion, but he could also do OK with someone who is out more, but dedicates some time to him daily.   Additionally, Jones suffered what we believe was a tail trauma and had his tail partially amputated and as a result has been to some extent incontinent for the past few years. If he has access to a litter box, he will have some success- and some misses- and he generally wears diapers out in our house during the day. We're in the process of trying acupuncture and laser treatment under our vet's care, and have seen some improvement in the last few weeks.   We believe we can assist his situation through these efforts and would be happy to coordinate continued care with his adopter. Having said that, he will probably always be a special needs cat.     This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Your information will be forwarded to the owner for follow-ups and meeting arrangement.  Cat's Cradle is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue serving Oregon cats who need new homes. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the cats in our care. Adoption Process
Adoptable cats and kittens are shown on our website with detailed profiles and pictures. To help our potential adopters learn more about the cat(s), we encourage them to first contact and discuss with the foster family if it might be a good fit. Potential adopters must submit an adoption application for review and evaluation. We also have onsite Adoption Events on a weekly basis. Our adoption counselors are present to handle the interview and adoption process. Our adoption fee for single kitten is $120 and $200 for a pair. Adult cat adoption fee is $60. We require that adopted cats be mainly indoor cats and no declawing is allowed. Adopters must be over 21 years old and sign a contract that lists out his/her responsibility as the cat's owner.
