Marie came from a motorhome sales lot. She was feral, but bringing her kittens by the shop for a meal or two. A horrible spring storm washed her kittens into a drainage ditch. Two or three were rescued by the guys there and were kept by a family associated with the dealership. As time went on, they thought she was pregnant again. Jeff trapped her for the sales manager's adult daughter who wanted to foster her during pregnancy and birth. Turned out, she wasn't pregnant. The sales manager had an ultrasound done that showed no kittens. Now the daughter wasn't interested in honoring her pledge to foster. In speaking with me, she stated that she couldn't keep her, was going to release her at her apartment complex - not spayed and to an area that Marie was not familiar with. I felt that I had to step in and take her to get her spayed and rehomed. She really did well for a while. She adores my old man cats, Cam and Noir, supposedly 17 and 19 years old respectively. However, she did not get along with my 2 feral female cats. Initially, Marie was defensive with them, and it worked. I think the dynamic changed for some reason (probably called her bluff) and now she seems terrified of them. She has never liked being held, but she always came to me for pets. She has an adorable teensy meow. Totally food-motivated. Churu is her love language. I think she would eat until she popped when it comes to treats and canned food. She hasn't been around dogs much, but she tolerated one of our smaller, calms dogs coming in the room to check on "her" kitties. I think she would be receptive to a female kitten - I think territory was the problem with my bossy girls. And I can't stress enough how much she loves my old men kitties. I have noticed that she is fascinated with 'new' water when I would bring their water bowl back after getting fresh water. I have seen her stand in the bowl. She might be a cat who likes to play in water.Apply to adopt to be the first to meet Marie at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, during our weekly adoption event, 12-4pm, Saturday or maybe even sooner.
